Terms & Conditions

Effective date: 27 July 2026. The ground rules for using Mailvern, in language you can actually read.

1. Introduction

Welcome to Mailvern. These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") govern your access to and use of Mailvern, a Google Workspace add-on that enables users to create, personalize, schedule, track and send emails directly from Google Sheets using Mailvern's built-in email editor.

By installing or using Mailvern, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree with any part of these Terms, you should discontinue use of the service.

2. Eligibility

To use Mailvern, you must:

  • Have a valid Google account
  • Be authorized to access the Google Workspace services you connect to Mailvern
  • Be legally capable of entering into binding agreements under applicable law
  • If using Mailvern on behalf of an organization, have the authority to accept these Terms on its behalf

3. License

Mailvern grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the add-on for personal or business purposes in accordance with these Terms.

This license does not transfer ownership of Mailvern or any intellectual property rights.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree to use Mailvern responsibly and in compliance with all applicable laws. You must not:

  • Use Mailvern to send spam or unsolicited bulk email
  • Send emails that violate anti-spam laws or email provider policies
  • Use Mailvern for phishing, fraud, malware distribution or illegal activities
  • Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile or modify Mailvern
  • Attempt to bypass subscription limits or licensing mechanisms
  • Interfere with the operation or security of Mailvern

5. Google Services Access

Mailvern requests access only to the Google services required for its functionality: Google Sheets, Gmail, Google Drive and Google account authentication. These permissions are used solely to provide features requested by the user.

Mailvern does not read Gmail inbox messages, access Gmail drafts, browse your Google Drive files, or access spreadsheets you have not chosen to use.

6. Email Editor and Attachments

Mailvern includes its own built-in email editor for composing emails and does not rely on Gmail drafts.

When you choose to attach files, the selected file is uploaded to your own Google Drive and Mailvern temporarily accesses it to attach it to outgoing emails. Only files you explicitly choose are accessed.

7. User Data & Privacy

Mailvern processes only the minimum information necessary to operate the service: your Google account email address, subscription status, current plan, usage counters, campaign analytics and tracking information when enabled.

Mailvern does not permanently store spreadsheet contents, email message bodies, Gmail messages or email attachments. Your use of Mailvern is also governed by the Mailvern Privacy Policy.

8. Payments & Subscriptions

Mailvern offers a 3-day free trial for paid subscription plans. Paid subscriptions unlock additional features and higher usage limits, and are associated with the Google account email used to access Mailvern.

Paid features become available after successful PayPal payment and subscription verification by Mailvern. Activation may require a short synchronization period.

Recurring subscriptions are managed through PayPal. Unless cancelled through PayPal, subscriptions automatically renew according to the billing cycle selected during purchase.

If a payment fails, expires or a subscription is cancelled, paid features may be suspended and your account may be downgraded to the applicable free plan. Existing campaign data remains available unless otherwise stated.

9. Refund Policy

Refund requests are reviewed on a case-by-case basis. If approved, refunds are processed through PayPal using the original payment method. Subscription fees already charged may not be refundable except where required by applicable law.

10. Third-Party Services

Mailvern integrates with trusted third-party services including Google Workspace APIs, Google Analytics and PayPal. Each third-party service is governed by its own terms and privacy policies, and Mailvern is not responsible for the availability or policies of third-party providers.

11. Service Availability

While we strive to provide reliable service, Mailvern is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We do not guarantee continuous availability, error-free operation, compatibility with every Google Workspace configuration, or uninterrupted access to third-party services.

Certain features may become temporarily unavailable due to Google service outages, API limitations, maintenance or other circumstances beyond our control.

12. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Mailvern and its owners shall not be liable for loss of data, business interruption, missed or delayed email delivery, Google service outages, incorrect spreadsheet configuration, user-created sending errors, loss of profits or revenue, or indirect, incidental or consequential damages.

You are responsible for reviewing campaign settings before sending emails.

13. Suspension and Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate access to Mailvern if you violate these Terms, abuse the service, attempt unauthorized access, use Mailvern for unlawful purposes, or circumvent licensing or subscription systems. Termination may result in the loss of access to premium features.

14. Intellectual Property

Mailvern, including its software, branding, logos, documentation, website and related materials, is the intellectual property of Mailvern. You may not copy, distribute, modify or create derivative works without prior written permission.

15. Changes to the Service

Mailvern may introduce new features, modify existing functionality or discontinue certain features at any time. We may also update pricing, usage limits, subscription plans and supported integrations.

16. Changes to These Terms

We may revise these Terms periodically. Updated Terms become effective upon publication on the Mailvern website or within the add-on. Continued use of Mailvern after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

17. Compliance with Google Policies

Mailvern complies with:

  • Google API Services User Data Policy
  • Google API Services User Data Policy – Limited Use Requirements
  • Google Workspace Marketplace Program Policies

18. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws applicable in the jurisdiction in which Mailvern operates, without regard to conflict of law principles. If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.
